Amocams 300 EIE

The Amocams 300 EIE is a binary protocol which supports a variety of Amocams RTU models. The driver supports the generic retrieval of all messages that adhere to the "ScanXX" format, where xx is 21,22,23, etc. The template allows for the full specification of retrieval parameters and response layout.

The EIE also provides the ability to issue generic commands to an RTU by setting the command code, ordinal, and response parameters, and also supports the special "lockout" communications mode when used with the Amocams modems.

For the 700 series RTU, the driver supports the following custom data groups: EGM Gas Composition, EGM Parameters, Pulse Relay, and Time Sync.

User-configurable data groups access device memory by setting the cmdCode and dataLength attributes, where cmdCode refers to a defined command code location and dataLength sets the length of the request structure. A list of command codes is available for reference. Data group elements within the data group define locations within this block by setting the offset (off attribute) from the start address. In some cases, a Boolean returnsResultCode attribute must be included in the data group definition to indicated whether or not the response includes a 1-byte status code (see sample device template files).

Because of the large variety of Amocam configurations, this EIE requires communications data analysis at your site prior to implementation.
