Troubleshooting Notes
The following subsections offer possible solutions to problems that might be encountered when working with notes.
Although these subsections attempt to be comprehensive, there is no way to anticipate all possible problems you might encounter when working with notes.
I clicked Display Information > Notes on my trend, but notes do not appear.
Here are some possibilities:
- No notes have been created for the series displayed on the y-axes of the applicable trend.
- Notes have been created for the series displayed on the y-axes of the applicable trend, but they are not in scope (i.e., they are not in the data/view window).
- A Note Service has not been properly configured for the site.
- A Note Service has not been associated with a relevant current value service for the site.
- Notes are not associated with points and/or facilities that derive from a service associated with the note's Note Service.
My trend tool is too full of notes.
Here are some possibilities:
- You make more notes than are necessary.
- Your Trend Tool might not be optimally configured for the number of notes your organization creates. Try using a different combination of note properties to thin out the note clutter. For instance, adjust the scale or size of your trend to space out notes.
- Your Trend Tool might not be optimally configured for the number of notes your organization creates. Try using the Note Filter to display only notes meeting a set of user-defined conditions.
- Only use ranged notes when absolutely appropriate.
- Use the Display Information > Notes option to toggle notes display on and off.
