Troubleshooting TWC Installation

During the TWC installation or upgrading process, the TWC.Installer.SetUp.exe program adds or updates two Windows services (TWC.Service.Server and TWC.PublishingService.Server), grants or confirms the supplied user with "Log on as a service" permission, and then starts or restarts the services.

During this process, if the setup program is unable to grant or confirm permissions, or start the services, the user will be notified. If one or both of the services fail to start, you can attempt to manually start or restart the service(s) from the Windows Services dialog box. Manually starting or restarting the services will yield log details in the Services log files, which may be useful in troubleshooting installation or upgrade issues. One of the possible reasons a service won’t start is not being able to communicate with the CygNet server.

The relevant log files are found in the CygNetTWC installation directory.

If you encounter installation or upgrade issues, and manually restarting the services doesn’t fix the problem, review the Services log files, and contact CygNet Support at the Software Support portal (login required), via phone at 1-866-4CYGNET (1-866-429-4638), or via email at CygNet Support.
