CygNet Alarm Manager Reports Overview

There are eleven report types that can be generated by the CygNet Alarm Manager (CAM):

 

Report Name Description

1.

Alarm Flood

The Alarm Flood report displays the periods within a specified date range where there were more than a configured number of annunciated alarms. This is different to the Alarm History Distribution report. The Alarm History Distribution report will show all periods and the number of alarms for each filter. The Alarm Flood report will only show periods that have more than the configured number of alarms in the period.

2.

Alarm History

The Alarm History report type is used to display alarm history record data from the ELSALM service. This report type can be used for various types of reports. The obvious use is a simple alarm report; however, through the use of filtering, a report showing inhibited points could also be constructed.

3.

Alarm History Distribution

The Alarm History Distribution report displays the number of alarms for configured periods of the specified date range. Each period can display the results of a defined filter. This report type can be used to generate 10-Minute, Hourly, or Daily Priority Distribution reports.

4.

Audit History

The Audit History report is used to display audit history record data from the AUD service. This report type is useful for creating reports such Manual Points and Suppressed Points reports.

5.

Average Acknowledgment Time

The Average Acknowledgment Time report shows the number of alarms for a given filter and the average time it took for an operator to acknowledge the alarm. The format of this report is fixed.

6.

Average Alarms per Day of Week

The Average Alarms per Day of Week report displays alarm statistics about specific days of the week during the configured date range, for example, 22 alarms on Sunday.

7.

Average Alarms per Hour of Day

The Average Alarms per Hour of Day report displays alarm statistics about specific hours of the day during a configured date range, for example, the average alarms at 2pm.

8.

Chatter/Fleeting Alarms

The Chatter/Fleeting Alarms report is used to display points that go into and out of alarm within a specified amount of time. Chattering alarms are first set, then cleared, then set again within a specified time. Fleeting alarms are first set and then cleared within a specified time.

9.

Stale

The Stale report is used to display points that have not been updated in the configured amount of time. The format of this report is fixed.

Standing Alarms

The Standing Alarms report displays values from alarm records that have been in alarm for a specified amount of time.

Worst Offenders

The Worst Offenders report is used to identify the points that have the most alarms during the specified date range.
