CygNet Alarm Manager
Note: The CygNet Alarm Manager (CAM) is a CygNet Applied Engineering application, which is priced and sourced separately from the rest of the CygNet product. Contact your Account Manager or CygNet Sales for additional licensing information.
The CygNet Alarm Manager is an add-on solution to a CygNet system, which provides a set of components designed to aid Alarm Management and assist in rationalizing alarms and point configurations. Through a series of alarm counting and reporting operations, as well as the sample workflow provided, Alarm Management personnel are able to determine alarm flooding conditions, identify top offenders, and systematically analyze alarm conditions to ensure that points are configured in accordance with your company’s Alarm Management philosophy.
This online help supports CygNet Alarm Manager v18.1.4.
The two major components of the CAM are:
KPI Engine
The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) engine is a configurable multi-threaded calculation engine that computes several KPI Alarm metrics and reports based upon CygNet’s Audit Service (AUD), Common Alarm Service (CAS) and Alarm Logging Service (ELSALM) services.
CygNet Studio Screen Set
The sample CygNet Studio screens provided in the module represents a sample workflow for viewing and interacting with the calculated KPI metrics and reports. Specific customer requirements may be required and as such modifications to the screens and/or new screens may be needed. KPIs and Reports can be run against multiple sites on the same domain.
The currently supported formats for report files are:
- Excel (XLSX)
- CSV
- XML
See CygNet Alarm Manager Reports and CygNet Alarm Manager Screens for more information.
Licensing
A user must be approved to use the CAM, which is controlled by your CygNet license. If the customer is not approved, various function calls to the CAM APIs will fail.
Note: If you are running multiple sites on a single domain without a License Master, ensure that all sites have the CAM enabled in their license file. Otherwise it is possible that your reports will be unexpectedly blocked due to not being authorized to run.
